Internal macbook display not detected

Hi, the internal display of my Macbook Pro 14-inch laptop is not detected (macOS Sonoma 14.6, M2 chip, 2023). When I open my Macbook, the lights on the keys are turning on and when I connect an external monitor the system works perfectly fine. However, the screen on my laptop stays black and the internal display is not detected in 'Displays' tab on system settings.


I tried to reinstall macOS and tried first aid in disk utility (both in recovery mode) but both didn't work.

Can anyone help me out?

Well it sounds like you have a hardware problem.


In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple


Outside the USA

Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support
