Photos: can't move Album into Folder, iOS 17.5

Photos App: seems it is no longer possible to organise existing albums into folders on iOS.

Depending on where you look, some instructions say you can just drag it (which is what i've always done). Other suggest a ludicrously long process: create new folder > create NEW album > drag contents of existing album into new album > delete old album. This is really nonsensical. We obviously need to be able to drag existing albums into new or existing folders in order to organise photos.

I'm sure this worked previously, anyone else found it no longer does? Am I missing something?

It has never been possible in iOS to drag an album into a folder, though this works on a Mac. Albums inside a folder in iOS and iPadOS must have been created with the folder. You're right-- this is a pain. Those of us who use Macs do most of our organizing on our computers.

You can make suggestions to Apple here:

They (and we) are more likely to listen if you are polite and avoid words like "ludicrously" and "nonsensical."
