I made a gasoline purchase using Apple Pay but there is no record of the transaction with the card company and payment has not been deducted from my account almost 3 weeks later. A cash back reward was claimed through the card company’s app and redeemed when gas purchase was made but amount of purchase has not cleared my account.
Apple doesn’t process credit card transactions. The merchants card processor submits the charge electronically to the bank that issued the credit card you used.
Apple and Apple Pay’s involvement ends when the merchant receives the approval or decline from the bank (through Apple Pay).
The completed transactions that Apple Wallet displays are provided by your credit card bank. Apple only has encrypted data and no key to decrypt the data.
