How can I tell if my AirPods case is charging properly?

Hello and goodafter.Recently am having issues with my airport charging case.I put it on charge and the colour turns orange .Then within 10seconds it turns off but when you open the case the airpod pops on the screen that it's charging but before it wasn't like that.Kindly assist me out.Thank you
