I was not facing this issue but today (1September2024) , I just watched Netflix for an hour and some Instagram , the battery went from 81% to 18%
Updated to iOS 17.6.1 and battery has gone from 100% to 46% in less than two hours. normal use of playing downloaded music .. shouldn’t be this much of a drain this fast !! Apple needs to address this 😡
OnlY one day after the IOS 17.6.1 update
my iPhone 15 pro somHow started to drain the bare like Crazy
Woke Up in the morning with an 80% charge around 6 AM and by 12 PM my phone was at less than 30%
All I used during that time was 2hours of screen on time , (i had 5G on auto the during the whole time frame)
It has been more than a few days since the update. My phone will not charge pass 69%. This issue did not exist before the update. This is very frustrating since I paid a lot of money for this not to happen to me. I have a 14 pro max. Apple needs to address this issue immediately.
You’re not alone, I’ve realized that after updating the battery is draining extremely fast compared to usual. Been using my iPhone 15 for almost a year and this is the first time I’ve notice the battery draining.
yep. I have to constantly keep a battery backup next to me when im outside. this I used to go 1.5 days. no charge. now less that 2 hours. Im not even on my phone and its at 35%. also why is my phone ever hearting as well? is this something with the battery drain. 12 pro max.

This is a serious issue that Apple must fix ASAP, Currently in the middle of a vacation even with a power bank iPhone 14 pro can't do a full day of normal usage it also becomes really hot under heavy use, especially when using Yahoo Finance or investing.com for a long time.
For example, 100% to 92% with a normal WhatsApp video call used to make this call daily morning I remember it never drops under 96% it also uses a lot of power when doing nothing!!
The current battery capacity is 87% almost 1.5 years device, this issue will drop the capacity even faster because of the cycle calculation.
This is after 17.6.1
same here! i updated to 17.6.1 yesterday, and battery has gone 2% / minute even i’m just opening instagram explore (not opening any content of it) and reply 1-2 message from WhatsApp. i think apple needs to fix this👎 *disclaimer i have an apple iphone 12 with battery life 85%
Hi,
I have a iPhone 13 which was purchased 19 days back and the phone came with version 17.5.1
When I used my phone on first 3 days the Battery from 85-20% getting screen time of 8 hours
But now this is not the case after updating big device to iOS 17.6.1
it is getting screen time 6.30-7 hours or even less than that though every battery saving steps has been followed
(Mobile data using only 4G, Using Low power mode, Back ground App refresh turned off ,System Haptics turned off, set Auto Brightness etc…)
Apple really need to look this concern
I’m experiencing this issue too. I have an iPhone 15 pro max. Prior to the update I never got lower than 20% in a day despite ever use, since the update I’m hitting 10% before the end of the day even with average use.
My iPad (2022) updated to 17.6.1 last night. Today, the iPad keeps freezing, restarting, and when the battery gets to 80% it suddenly drops to 2% and the iPad restarts. When I plug in the charger, it immediately jumps from 2% back to 80%, and works fine again until battery gets to 80%, then freezes/ restarts. This is definitely a software issue. WTF Apple?
Went to update my Iphone to the latest version sometime later my phone has been laggy, glitching, and it pops up on my screen saying "Liquid detected in lightning cable" when I try to charge it but I never even allow any liquid to get on my phone neither did I have it in rain or anything in that matter this started yesterday I gave it sometime to get better restarted my phone a couple of times today and im still having these system issues can I get any help from you guys?
Hello~ You don’t need to purchase a new iPhone every year and your assumption that Apple intends for you to do so is well…to put it nicely is incorrect. I have an iPhone 12 mini with the battery replaced by Apple and it continues to serve me well.

Same...
1 day after updating to 17.6.1 battery drains itself overnight. In a foreign country atm so Uber and Maps are quite critical. After this update I'm always wondering if my phone will die when going out for the afternoon.

Did you not have it plugged in overnight? If not, why not?
