Jio Cinema platform doesn’t support Audio on Apple TV

Updating, resetting, reinstalling nothing seems to work. The Jio helpdesk is unable to sort this out unfortunately !!!

No atmos even no 5.1 sound working, only stereo on apple tv app on android google tv Tcl p725 tv on android 11, apple tv app version 14.0.1 (latest version). Tv audio is set to passthrough, its connected to samsung q990b soundbar via hdmi cable on arc at both ends. No 5.1 or atmos sound getting to soundbar from movies or trailers on apple tv app, only stereo available. Prime video app, apple tv on windows machine, local media files are ok with atmos and 5.1 thus there is no problem or compatibility issues with tv and soundbar. Looks like, for some reason apple tv app on google tv cant handle surround sounds, even bare minimum 5.1.. Atv app is up to date, resetting it didnt help. There is not any option to change audio settings on the app at all. Itunes app on windows for instance has an option to enable audio passthrough which does exactly what is needed, passing dolby surround to output device. This is a serious problem yet its a basic feature every app/device normally provides. Dont know if there is a workaround other than waiting for apple team to update apple tv app on android/google tv?

Surround sound (5.1 ch) broken except Apple TV app on Apple TV Box I've spoken to an Apple tech, but we couldn't find a solution. After the latest update, I noticed that Netflix, Disney+, Stan, and Prime Video no longer deliver surround sound (5.1ch). Interestingly, the Apple TV app plays surround sound without any issues. I also tested all my apps (as above) on LG TV, and all of them play 5.1ch sound perfectly. I also tried changing the "Audio Format" to 5.1ch on my Apple TV, but that didn't work either. Since the Apple TV app on my Apple TV Box produces surround sound and the other apps don't, I wonder if there's an issue with the latest update. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

No sound on Apple TV app I setup a used Toshiba tv with a fire stick that had all my apps signed in. All my streaming apps are fine except for Apple TV. There is no audio to go along with the video. I have deleted the app from my firestick, redownloaded it and reset the settings in the app and still get no audio. Extremely frustrating and been going on for weeks.

Update your Apple TV system software to the current (non-beta) version, if not done already. How to update your Apple TV - Apple Support

Try this for any misbehaving app:

Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
If the issue still persists after that, then contact the app developer for further assistance.

Try changing the audio format from ‘Auto’ to ‘Dolby Digital 5.1’ (if you have surround sound speakers) or ‘Stereo’ (if you have two speakers; left and right).
