How to see if a contact has blocked you on whattap but not on your iPhone

I was blocked on whattap so I thought I’d be blocked on the phone too sent a messenger it went blue at the time but didn’t say it was read or delivered , a few weeks has passed and I’ve deleted my WhatsApp and re installed it , the contact is still on my phone they have the same name as a family member so alphabetically goes under theirs in contacts and I was supposed to be ringing that family and it rung the blocked contact , so I switched of my phone completely , and when I put it back on they had sent a message to messenger , and I was able to read it , and they had sent a WhatsApp but that still says waiting for this message it may take a while , and I’ve never received it it’s still waiting from Thursday it’s now Saturday , so when they block whattap did it not block me on my phone ?
