ordered a Macbook air M3 Pro on August 4, 2024, got a delivery estimate for August 14.
By August 8, 2024, the laptop is at DHL Cincinnati hub and status shows Clearance Event without any updates for the past 48 hours
Should I contact Apple or DHL?
I ordered my laptop directly from Apple’s website.
If you have a tracking number you should check with DHL.
Clearance Events are associated with international deliveries clearing Customs and typically take 3-5 business days, so your 48 hours is not unusual.

You were there, I wasn't. But it's hard to believe you had "crystal-clear summer weather" as Debby passed over your area, which it did. Debby's effects were widespread, not just clouds & rain.
If you are concerned about your shipment in clearance and have a tracking number, call DHL and ask to be put through to the Brokerage service (customs brokerage).

IMHO, I'd say three weeks is pretty good considering your order had to be processed, sent to the manufacturer in China, scheduled for build, assembled in the factory, sent to shipping in China, delivered halfway around the world, delivered to US Customs for inspection, cleared customs, delivered to your city, then delivered to you.
I would say reach out to apple and see if they’re aware that the product has been stuck there since 08/07.

International shipments take time ... and remember, hurricane Debby disrupted business, air & ground transportation between Aug. 3-Aug. 10 and it takes extra time to recover afterwards. The storm tracked right through Ohio. Your delivery time is probably affected by both.
update, it took 5 days for DHL to complete the clearance process and the package only started moving on 14th August. So you’re right about 3-5 days for clearing customs.

Same here. Mine is stuck at the Cincinnati hub since Aug 7. Paying thousands of $s for a MacBook, and dealing with a two-week delivery window in the US is a classy look for Apple. Kudos! 👏🏻
