I just purchased a macbook air with the education discount for $1799( which is only $-150 off regular price of $1949). It advertises this price PLUS a $200 gift card. I was then charged $200 for a gift card and then given a $200 gift card so that is no savings at all. Terrible invoicing seems to be purposefully confusing to make you think you got more discounts that you do.

Apple reduces the price of the purchased device when invopiced in the amount of the gift card, so you should have only paid 1599 as mentioned for the MacBook Air and not 1799.
