I have three things for you to try:

Reset PRAM: Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

Reset SMC: Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Boot up while holding Command + R to go into recovery. While in recovery, use Disk Utility to do first aid on the drive. Make sure you change the view to "All Devices" so that you can click on the actual hard drive and not just the container.

If none of those items help, there is a good possibility that it's a RAM issue. Problem is, after 2012, Apple started soldering it to the board. So you can't swap them out if they go bad.

Follow the suggestion from the previous Contributor - First

Yes, as they have mentioned, newer Apple computers have the RAM Soldered onto the Logicboard

There by making it impossible to Replace a possible Failed RAM Module

Some user were success by Erasing the The Drive and Reinstalling the Operating System from Scratch

Others were less fortunate and requiring a New Logicboard

Hopefully the previous suggestion with prevail and fix the " Volume Hash Mismatch "

Below are a collection of some of those who were the less fortunate and needed Servicing from Apple

Volume hash mismatch, cannot reinstall MacOS

Thanks for your reply. As I'm able to use my computer without any issues at the moment(I've stayed on the correct time zone since resetting it) I'm starting to wonder if the above error message is just a glitch in the system? Probably just wishful thinking, it doesn't feel urgent at the moment. I'm able to upgrade and use computer as usual. Probably I will be in touch with Apple soon, as I don't feel that I'm capable of trying to fix this on my own. Thanks again for your time.
