  1. Open a blank 8.5 by 11 inch template. Visit the Document's panel and make it landscape orientation.
  2. From the View menu, select Show Rulers
  3. On the Format > Layout panel, visit the Default spacing section, click the + symbol and change the default 0.5 in Stop to 5.5 in. You will see that tab stop appear on the top ruler.
    1. If you have a vertical ruler also shown, click on its left edge and drag the guide across until it reaches that top ruler tab stop. There is your center fold line.
    2. If you have no vertical ruler showing, then use Use rulers in Pages on Mac - Apple Support to display it. Here are my settings for the Rulers panel in Pages v14.1 on Sonoma 14.6.1.

Those alignment guides are important in helping you to dynamically see alignments between other objects (e.g. text boxes, shapes, images, etc.) that you choose to place in your pamphlet construction.
