App Limits and Always Allowed for Messages
I am trying to set parental control for my kids phone. The functionality I want is 2-fold. First, I have set a downtime. During this period I have set Messages as Always Allowed and I have selected specific contacts for communication during downtime. Second, I also have an App Limit for Messages. I am expecting that the Messages app will get blocked after app limit time expires but she will be able to communicate with the contacts I had selected in the downtime setting. What I am experiencing is that the Messages app doesnt get blocked at all. My kid is able to have unrestricted use of the app during the allowed use time frame. I suspect this is because the app is also selected in Always Allowed group. I reached out to Apple Support and their answer was an unbelievable - "turn off the Content and Privacy Restrictions for 15 min and then turn it back on and see if problem is solved".
Is the above behavior even possible and if so, what setting do I need to make it work?
