macbook pro unable to communicate with hp printer

HP Envy 5540. My MacBook pro, IOS 14.6.1 will print a test page, scanner functions fine. When I try to print a document, the notices states printer is busy. I have reloaded the driver numerous times, have downloaded the latest driver and programs for this printer from HP. I have tried everything I can think of but i still can't get the computer to communicate with the printer. Help please?

Sonoma—it is the new way, yes.

A new print icon called “Print Center “ replaces all of the old printer icons. Everything works as expected.

In Print Center, use the "Printer -> Add to Dock" menu.

you can submit your Apple Feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

If it is listed as AirPrint printer, delete the existing printer, and add it again, select AirPrint.

I'm also using HP Never Stop 1000w, after I update Mac OS 14.6.1 I can't print, and I have tried too many ways on the internet. Reset Print, Router, and Wifi on my Macbook. But no action. HP Smart app, which I used the diagnosis & fix function. But just app found driver issue but not fixed. I hope Apple can fix this problem early, and make MAC OS become perfect like the old time.
