Converting the number keypad to the letter keypad that’s what it

I need to enter some alpha numeric letters on the numeric keypad while making a phone call.

Do you mean while you're on a call you need to type into some other application?

Or you need to press numbers on the dial pad that correspond to the letters on each number that the remote system 'hears' and interprets as a letter?

I suspect the former, in which case just press the number. Keypad tones have no ability to send alphanumeric characters. Any number->alpha conversion is done by the recipient ("oh, they pressed '2', so I'll assume they meant 'A')

If I'm missing something, please provide more details.
