Not receiving group text messages after switching to Pixel 8 Pro

I'm on a group text message and do not receive them after switching from an iPhone to the Pixel 8 Pro. Both recipients can text me individually, but I do not receive anything when it is a group text. I checked the deregister phone number link, and it says my phone number is not registered. I don't receive them in iMessage either. I'm not sure what to do or how to fix this. Can someone please help? We are going on a group vacation together and can't communicate. This is very annoying.

Try creating a new group message. Better yet, you create the new group so it forces SMS.

Also, go to the Messages app on your Pixel 8 Pro, tap the three dots at the top-right corner, go to Settings > Advanced, and ensure "Group messaging" is enabled.

If you're still having issues, go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Storage & cache, and clear both. Sometimes this helps with resetting any message delivery issues.

It this a group that you were a part of before you switched phones? Are the other people in the group using iMessage, SMS or a mix? Have you tried removing yourself from the group and asking to be added back? I don't know if that will be possible but it's worth a try.

I don't see how I can force it to do SMS...will Apple changing to RCS fix this? Or do I need to turn off RCS to fix this?
