Google app closing all open tabs randomly even though I changed the settings to NEVER TWICE!

I have about 5-10 tabs open in Google and probably about 3-4 times now I have gone to open them to either search or check something out and they are all gone. First one or two at a time would disappear but then the next time the whole page was gone and then I looked in settings and it said “automatically close tabs that haven’t been recently use” and I clicked NEVER! So thought that would fix it but no. I was even on there today and using them so it wasn’t like they were inactive.

Please is there a way to get them back this is on my iPhone.

I had a lot of really important stuff in those searches.
