How can i get a refund for a product bought on the online apple store?

Hi! I bought an refurbished apple Macbook Pro from the online store but messed up the specs and will be returning it as soon as i get it (sealed) via an apple retail store near me. I bought the computer online with my debit card, can i get a refund with in store credit? or a gift card or some type of instant money-back solution?

My dad is the one who will be returning it since i'm abroad and there's no official apple stores where i am now. I read that the only refund option is refunding the money to my debit card, is this true? Has anyone who's done that know how much time will it take for the money to get back to my bank account, since my dad won't be staying long in the states.

No, you won't be doing that.

Your local store will NOT give you an "as new" 14-day refund/exchange for refurbished. Those must be shipped back to the refurbished store, and in every case, must be in the same country as purchased.

You can get a prompt refund back to the same source as used for purchase. if you paid in actual cash, they will instead mail you a check, to avoid the use of the Apple store for money-laundering.

The refund will be applied to the payment method used to purchase the Mac; in this case your debit card.
