3TB fusion on old MAC.. what is the equivalent ?

I have an iMac 2013 3TB hard drive and 16GB memory.

I want to buy a new iMac. however i dont want to reduce the overall storage on the device.

It appears on the new iMacs the storage is minimal ( ie. only up to 2TB)

Question: what options do i have to get storage ( and no.. i dont want iCloud)

thanks!

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

External hard drive or external SSD.

Your old iMac was a 27" iMac that had room for a 3 TB desktop hard drive, and a 128 GB SSD, inside. (Your Fusion Drive is a software combination of those two drives.)

The new iMac is a 24" model that has no hard drive or hard drive bays inside. All of its storage is pure SSD storage.

You can get

  • External portable hard drives in sizes up to about 5 TB.
  • External desktop hard drives in sizes up to about 20 TB.
  • External SSDs in sizes up to about 4 TB. Some of these are about the size of a credit card or of a USB flash drive.
