I'm running Monterey 12.7.2 on a 2018 iMac. I have tried numerous times to download and install the latest update for Monterey. All seems to be done correctly with restarts. When it looks like it is finished, I still see 12.7.2 as the OS. Have others had this problem? Should I just update to OS 13 and forget about it? Do I try to install in safe mode? Thanks

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?
How much free space do you have on your boot drive?
It is weird, the only time I've seen similar was back in 10.13.x, where a partially failed Security Update prevented moving up, as it showed as Installed, yet didn't have the right build#.

Is the Internal Drive of this 2017 iMac an Apple Original Drive or possible an After Market Drive ?
Hi PRP_53, I would sure hope my drive is original. I purchased my Mac from Apple as a new purchase. Thanks for exploring possibilities. Still no luck with everyone's help.
Hi BDAqua...do you remember what the solution was back then? I'm not even showing it as being installed at all.
Don't just discontinue but delete completely according to the developer's instructions. They leave files buried in the system that continue to run even though you quit the app. Nasty little devils.
Thank you BDAqua. You, g_wolfman and Old Toad are leading me in the right direction. I will do my best to uninstall all of these and then do another etrecheck report.
