opening Photos automatically when I open my IMac

Each time I open my Mac computer to select Chrome, the Photo app opens first, which wastes much time.

What do I need to do to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

I cannot get it to go back to where I could use the browser and photos side by side again. all my apps like safari and notes, and photoshop share the same window, and photos used to as well. Check  > System Settings > General > Login Items. If you have Photos set to open at login, then you can select it and remove it.
