I am unable to activate iMessage and FaceTime via contact number
I have been trying to activate i message and facetime via contact number but unable to do so. Carrier is vodafone.

Call the carrier and request to unlock the sms in your phone line because FaceTime and iMessage requires the sms unlocked in order to activate those services
