How can I get rid of duplicate Photos?
Is there anyway not to have duplicate photos. When a photo is moved from the photo library to an album I now have two copies. This takes a lot of space. How can I overcome this?

All photos are in the Library whether or not they are in one or more albums. There is no option to change that.
It does not take up more storage space. There is only one photo stored no matter whether it is in one album, several albums or no albums. It is a single photo that is displayed in multiple places.
