Apple tv

We have Apple TV through T-Mobile and my husband is the main account holder. We have used his apple ID to log in and redeem this service. He has shared this apple TV with us using a Family Share Plan but we also can login on a laptop using his apple id info. Is there a way when we log into Apple TV to have users similar to other streaming services? For example I logged in on my phone and selected a few shows and movies that I want to watch- like my preferred list- but I do not see these online when using my laptop. Since we are a family of 4 I was hoping we would all have usernames, or avatars, on this one family account. Is this possible? And if yes, how do I add these usernames? Thanks.

Thanks for your quick reply, but since we get this free from T-Mobile, they only send a redeem link to the main account holder.

Doesn't matter. The main account holder can redeem it and then share it over Family Sharing with other users.

When shared, each person should use their own Apple ID to access the shared subscription.

I tried to do it myself and each time I log in it says "accept free trial". I was hoping this could be done once we are logged in as we do with other streaming services (Disney, Hulu, Max, Netflix, Prime, etc). We have one account with 4 profiles as you said, all with unique preferences.

Apple TV does not work like the other streaming services. Each Apple ID is by definition the profile.

You log in with each Apple ID to the Apple TV box as explained in the link above, and you can then switch between them to get access to the different profiles for Apple TV+.

On your own devices, you should be logged in with your own Apple ID, never somebody else's.

Your husband needs to share the Apple TV+ subscription over Family Sharing to your individual Apple IDs.

Once shared, and sign in, it may take a little while for the subscription to be available to other users.

It should appear under Settings ➜ Family ➜ Subscriptions in iPhone, iPad and Mac.

If it still won't appear, you can log out of Settings ➜ Apple Id ➜ Media & Purchases and log in again to refresh it.

You each need to log in with your own Apple ID to the Apple TV box and the Apple TV app on your devices. You should not log in with your husbands account for any reason.

With each of you using your own account, you each will get your own "profile" and should a see your own list without interfering with the other users.
