How do I remove activation lock from a gifted Apple Watch?
My mother had gifted me with an Apple Watch back when I was still on her Apple ID. Recently, I have created my own Apple ID, and was trying to switch my watch to the account. I had gone into her Apple ID and taken the watch off of her account. However, the watch still wants me to sign into her account, even though I reset the watch. Unable to go through Apple to have them "unlock" the watch because I need proof of purchase. I don't have any proof of purchase because it was gifted to me nearly 5 years ago.
Should I try and call their tech support, or will I have to buy a new watch?
