i have 4 iphones, using same id. my call logs shouldn’t be mixing up

I use 4 iPhones for work. I have been using 1 Apple ID for so long without any issue. But ever since iOS 17 came along, all my devices now share call logs. It’s an annoying and frustrating. Please fix it, I know you can because before I was using without any issue

Apple has maintained for years, that people should NEVER share the same Apple ID. Here is what Apple says on this topic and note the fact it specifically refers to merged call logs and voicemail message --> Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID - Apple Support

Are you aware each person who has the same Apple ID can also see all of your text messages simply by tapping your phone number in Settings > Messages without your permission?

There is nothing to fix here as your phones are doing exactly what Apple designed them to do.

Instead of asking Apple to fix something which isn't broken, you can do something about it, by following the directions in this well written article by one of the forums most respected members, Lawrence Finch --> How to “unshare” an Apple ID - Apple Community

I remember coming across an article on a Mac news site, where an Apple representative had talked to them, and said that they considered call log sharing to be a feature. That article was written as of many versions of iOS ago.

I'm not sure exactly why call log sharing did not happen all the time in intermediate versions of iOS, but my guess would be that Apple might consider their behavior to be a bug – and the iOS 17 behavior to be the way that things should have worked all along.

I don't know if Apple would consider changes to request or modify it (e.g. so that the sharing still happened – but you could filter the displayed list). If you want to suggest changes, you could do that at:

Here we go:

iMore – Apple comments on iCloud call history sync: What you need to know!

This article was last updated on March 2, 2018. At that time, iOS 11, which came out in September 2017, would have been the current version of iOS. According to the article, some rags had been accusing Apple of "secretly, surreptitiously backing up and syncing your iPhone call history, in a hidden, and implicitly nefarious way." iMore spoke with Apple and found out there was nothing surreptitious or nefarious about it.

""We offer call history syncing as a convenience to our customers so that they can return calls from any of their devices," an Apple spokesperson told iMore."
