Converting PDFs to simple text using Shortcuts

Someone asked in this thread:

convert pdf to text - Apple Community

how to convert pdf to text. VikingOSX replied and offered to roll up a Shortcuts tool for either format or even a short AppleScript with the ability to select the PDF in the Finder and then perform the extraction. The OP never responded but I personally would like Shortcut tool.

And any suggestions on a shortcut tool that would use "Extract Text from Image"

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

You'd need to do something like this using the Select File and Get Text from PDF actions:

Add any action afterward to process the extracted text.
