Find my IPhone Turn Off

I recently broke my phone, because of this I had to do account recovery on another device. After the 5 days I logged on, Asurion required me to disconnect my phone from find my to process my insurance claim. I have disconnected the device from my iCloud as well as from find my, it is still registering under find my. Would erasing the phone be a good option?

iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 17

It won't hurt to erase the phone, but it won't help with the issue that you are reporting.

It may take some time......we've seen reports from some users that it might take up to 30 days to remove the phone from the list of devices using your Apple ID.

Best to check with Apple Support directly for more information and any possible ways to shorten the delay.
