can I use AirPlay if I install Apple TV app on my sky Glass TV?
Would I need to use an external device via my HDMI to get AirPlay working or will it simply work just by installing the Apple TV app on my sky Glass TV?

The Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app does not provide AirPlay functionality.
For AirPlay functionality, at least one of these is needed:
- Apple TV box
- Smart TV that is AirPlay-enabled by its manufacturer
- A third party streaming device connected to the TV, that is AirPlay-enabled by its manufacturer (i.e. Roku at this time).
