Adding Payment method or adding card to apple wallet do not work anymore

When i first got my iPhone 15 Plus i added my cards without any issues and i was able to remove it and add another one when mine expired. However, when I created a new iCloud account and was attempting to add my card to the wallet, it refused and the infamous message appeared ( card cannot be added, contact card issuer) then I logged out and logged in to my old account and they were there and I just verified them successfully, I even tried to add my dad's card and it was added successfully!!. I logged in again to the new account but I cannot add any cards (nor mine or my dad's).

I tried changing the region, resetting the iPhone ( Vol up/down until the Apple logo appears, trying to add the card from the bank app, formatting the device and setting it as a new one, resetting all the network settings, uninstalling then re-install the apple wallet app. NONE is working!!

I updated the iOS to 17.6 and nothing worked.. Now even with the old account I cannot add any card. I even went to Apple ID --> payment --> adding card details --> error message ( cannot verify payment contact apple for support)

I don't know what happened , my phone was working perfectly fine and all of the sudden it crashed down

So, your pattern of creating new Apple ID, adding and removing cards, cards that don’t belong to you and using multiple devices fits exactly the patterns that fraudsters use when attempting to add cards to Apple Wallet. Apple is noting your usage patterns to the bank and your devices are now >red path< verification because of the higher risk of possible fraudulent activity.

The process uses computer algorithms to detect the patterns. There is no manual override. Neither Apple, your bank, or Payment Network Operator (Visa, Mastercard, American Express etc.) can override the automated decision. If no attempts are made for about 35 days, try adding a card again.

You’re welcome. Ultimately, it is your bank. They are doing the risk analysis and applying their standards. The data Apple sends is anonymous and not tied to you. It’s your device and the activity that has occurred on the device. Number of attempts, age of Apple ID, usage of Apple Messages, and Apple Mail etc. Fraudsters don’t typically do a lot of emailing and texting from their multiple devices. The devices also don’t change location either. Common things an average user would do, but not a fraudster.

No, multiple accounts can have the same card. Cards are tied to the device, not an Apple ID. However, only one Apple ID can be associated with a device at any given time. If you had continued to use the old account, I doubt you’d of had an issue adding cards. However, the newness of the Apple ID/iCloud account and then trying to add cards, could certainly be a practice fraudsters use.

No problem! :)

okay currently, I’m logged in into my old account because my card is in the ( previous cards) section and what I did is going to the bank app and asked the card to be added and it went okay. However I have another new card I cannot add it at all through scanning or manually

now I will wait for a month but may I know what was the mistake I did before? I know you said the pattern but when I created my new ID ,, I attempted to add the card once and I was met with ( card cannot be added ) then I went back to the old one,

is it wrong for 2 accounts to have the same cards?
