Corner of MacBook Pro (M2) lighter after water spill
A drink leaked in my bag. I didn't think it affected my MacBook, but now the bottom left-hand corner of the screen is significantly lighter than the remainder. There's a clear, uneven edge to the area. Otherwise, the device appears to work as it should. If I take a screenshot, the lighter area doesn't appear on the image. The image below is a photograph of the screen. The colour difference is only really noticeable when light colours are displayed. The screen displays everything as it should in all other ways and is perfectly useable.
The liquid (hot tea) might have removed a screen coating, but the area didn't appear wet and is a completely uniform colour. If it did remove a coating, it did a very uniform job of it, which is unlikely. Another possibility is that some liquid has somehow got in the screen's laminate, but I can't see any other evidence of this. I'm guessing it's some sort of electrical fault caused by water ingress, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts? Is it likely to go away in time as things dry out? Or should I expect further issues?
