Why does previously browsed websites open instead of the homepage when I open Safari?

Whenever I open Safari instead of my homepage up pops a page from a website I visited a week or more ago. There is no URL for this page in the address bar. I have tried clearing the data in the cache for that particular website, but it makes no difference. The website is in Spain and is called TaskRabbit. It connects handymen and customers who needs their services. Any ideas what could be going on and how to fix it? Thanks!

Clearing Safari's saved website data won't have any effect on that particular problem. Try clearing Safari's History: Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac - Apple Support.

Also, check Safari's Preferences or Settings > General, and confirm each of those settings reflect your wishes.
