Wired headphones for Iphone 15+

Hi, all seeking advice for wired headphones for the 15 pro max, I connect a pair I got from a brand called I-Gear in Australia and they aren't detected and sound continues to play out of the Iphone. The ear plugs work fine in my partners phones which is a Samsung.

I spoke to support - who weren't that helpful and basically I bought non geniune headohones so nothing they can do or visit a store hours away.

Just wondered if anyone had this issue or new how to resolve - will buying genuine usb-c headphones really solve it - third party always used to work just fine for me.
