Should I turn off my Apple Watch while I am away?

Chances are, as soon as you put it on the charger, it will power up all by itself.

And a week powered off at any charge level above 40% is not going to be an issue. Or sitting on the charger for a week should not be an issue either.

However, if it is going to be months, the the ideal is powered off, with the battery between 60% and 80%

DO NOT let the battery run out. That is the worst thing you can do to a Li-Ion battery ‼️

If you are talking a week or 2, you can leave it on the charger.

Or power off the Apple Watch.

Powering the watch off and leaving it on the charger will serve no purpose other than somewhere to store your watch.

It's true. I didn't realize that but I just tested it and it started up as soon as I put it on the charging puck.
