Convert Apple Pages with embedded video to PDF

I have videos embedded in Apple pages (no problem) and want to export the Pages document to PDF, with the video playing in the PDF file.

However the video shows as a picture only, can not play.

I am working on a MacBook Air (M2, 2022) and Apple Pages version 13.1.

Is there any solution to maintain playable video when converting to PDF?

If my memory serves me well, it did work many years ago when using FrameMaker and later with Adobe InDesign. The latest version of Acrobat Pro does not mention conversion of embedded videos to PDF.

MacBook Air, macOS 12.6

No. Pages does not export active videos to PDF. You would likely need Adobe Acrobat Pro (true PDF Editor) and add the video to the PDF after the Pages export.

Pages is not an Adobe application nor assisted by Adobe Acrobat Pro which was likely in that Adobe Suite at the time. The current Adobe Acrobat Pro will still allow you to add videos to an existing PDF that you open in it.
