Hi tried to get apple TV set up via Barclays blue reward system would only let me sign up for a 7 day free trial. Could someone please enlighten me

Did you choose the service in the Barclays app as directed here. Not sure what steps it tells you to follow after choosing Apple TV+ in the Barclays app, but somewhere they are going to have to know your Apple ID so when you log into Apple TV+ on your device you will be recognized. If you are currently signed into Apple TV, then log out and sign in again.
