Burns from watch series 7

dear Apple: I am probably some thousandth customer who is complaining about BURNS on my WRIST. I had a series 5 watch with 0 issues. I upgraded to a 7 and at least for the past year I’ve been getting what I thought was a rash. I diligently clean it with alcohol, then read its better to use a Clorox wipe, neither worked. I turned off certain functions that other users said helped. Did not help. I might get away with being able to wear it for a few days before the itching and burning gets to be unbearable. It’s not the band. It’s not too tight. When water gets under it from washing my hands I remove it so it and my wrist can dry.

but I should not constantly have a massive red welt on my wrist. Apple needs to actually acknowledge this and do something about it before they get sued.

has anyone found any kind of solution? This is ridiculous.

This is fairly uncommon but it happens often enough that multiple doctors have created YouTube videos about the issue. I’ve linked below to a short 30 second video by a physician that explains the issue.

Please make an appointment with your primary care physician and get a diagnosis of your condition. Your Dr. may refer you to an allergist or dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.

Please let the community know what the diagnosis is and I hope everything goes well.

You may have contact dermatitis caused by an allergic reaction or sensitivity to Nickel in the metal cases or bands. Nickel is used in the hardening process of stainless steel, aluminum and sapphire crystal.

>>In fact, it is estimated that more than 18 percent of people in North America are allergic to nickel, including 11 million children in the U.S.<<
