Burns on Wrist from Series 7 Apple Watch

Occasionally I get a red spot that looks like a blister under the metal part of my Apple Watch. At first I thought it was caused by chafing but this time it hurts like a burn and the way the skin is peeling back and turning yellow looks distinctly like a burn. What can be done about this? Clearly I don’t want to wear a watch that burns my skin but I paid good money for the watch and expect Apple to sell top quality products.
