If you can't read the code on the back of your card because it's scratched or damaged, contact Apple Support.

You might need to provide:

  • An image of the full front and back of your card.
  • A sales receipt showing when your card was purchased.
  • The serial number from your card.

Of course we can't help, but Apple deals with this all the time and provides instructions in their support article if that occurs. Zachyy provided the correct answer by contacting Apple with the information needed and will assist in redeeming the Gift Card.

Directing the user back to the store is not likely going to give the user a positive outcome.

Apple Stores are more for retail and repair, while Apple Support is more remote assistance and troubleshooting for issues.

Apple Gift Cards are sold globally, imagine many people facing the inconvenience of having to visit an Apple Store in their country to redeem them, many people don’t live near an Apple Store. In fact, the US only has 271 Apple Stores, and millions of product users. So Apple makes it easy by providing remote assistance with Apple Support.
