I just got my iPad mini 6th gen brand new August 28th, haven’t been using it that much since I’m waiting for my pencil to arrive. My Touch ID on the top of my iPad isn’t working and suddenly very hot and has burnt me when I touched it.

Apple has a 14 day return policy on products purchased from the due date, I recommend you go return it for a new iPad. I wouldn’t take my chances facing issues this early with a new product.

Yeah I recommend you return it and exchange it for a new one, I wouldn’t take chances facing an issue this early into your new iPad.
