My Apple Watch is showing a charging Icon with red lightning bolt. I put it on charger & it showed a thermometer so I took it off charger…..now what??

The red lighting bold means, that you will have to charge your watch for at least 30min, before it can be used:
If your Apple Watch won't charge or it won't turn on - Apple Support
But, if you are getting the temperature warning, the watch is getting too hot while charging.
Has the battery ever been replaced, or has the watch been submerged in water?
I bought it as “refurbished”. Haven’t had any trouble until I was working & began to sweat profusely in the heat.
Did you buy it from an Authorised Apple Reseller or Apple directly?
If yes, it might still be covered by a warranty.
