keychain access question

I access a particular (highly secure) website and the web form password activity seems to be listed every time I open this website.(same day or different days).... examples:

"secure01a.wesitenamehere.com(password here)( my website user name). and the"Secure" portion will change to various numbers (secure01, 05, etc etc). Is this a security thing to let me know when this website has been accessed? can I delete these lines from keychain access? thanks for any help anyone can give....if not, I'll call apple directly.

This sounds more like an odd setup on the part of the web site in question.


It's not uncommon for large sites to be hosted on multiple different servers (for redundancy, scale, etc.), but it seems like they've named each of their servers independently, and are not using a single authentication token across all of them. Therefore, as far as Safari (or any web client for that matter) is concerned, they are different sites, each with a distinct login (the fact it's the same username and password is irrelevant).


Ultimately, I don't think it's a problem, at least from a security standpoint, just a quirk of the way the site is configured.


If you delete the entries from Keychain Access, you'll just need to re-authenticate on that site next time you visit, and the entry will be recreated.
