Finding unsent texts
I have a 14 Pro Max.
I wrote a long text and while doing so, answered an incoming text. Now I can’t find text I was writing. Is it gone for good?

Yes, it's gone for good. Messages doesn't have a draft function.
If you make a habit of writing long texts, I recommend that you draft them in Notes and then share them back to Messages. It's easy and will safe you a lot of aggravation.
