My phone is on airplane mode and I just received a call. I have iPhone 15 Pro. My iPad was nearby, not on airplane mode. It is not cellular. Any idea how the call got through?

Try turning off Wi-Fi Calling. If your iPhone is set to allow WI-Fi even when Airplane Mode is active, Wi-Fi calling will allow calls to come through. It might also connect to Wi-Fi through your iPad if "Make and receive Wi-Fi calls from another device" is turned on, though I'm not sure about that.

Additionally, if you have WiFi enabled, you will still be able to get calls over data including FaceTime and WhatsApp.
