iPhone temperature warning

Friend’s Iphone displayed temperature warning, I tried to send a iMessage but it sent green. I checked the location and it only showed their location from 30+ minutes ago. Does the warring on the screen prohibit the phone’s ability to still receive iMessages and share its location even though it’s still on?

iMessage contact green When attempting to send iMessage to neighbor with iphone, to: comes up green and will not sent. Neighbor is able to initiate contact but not me.

When your iPhone gets too hot, you won’t be able to use it.

Green text bubbles may indicate iMessage is temporarily unavailable on your recipient’s device, and Location Services may not be available when your iPhones connection signal weakens, which all these can happen when your iPhone is too hot.

If the phone is overheating, there will be a number of services that will not work, or will not work up to full capacity.
