Having battery drain while asleep. Why is this happening?

I checked vitals including activity monitor. Nothing out of the ordinary but Chrome is the only app that uses the most energy. Why is the battery being drained while in sleep mode? It always drain out and I have to charge the battery each time.

Chrome is a known resource hog

Closing it when sleeping the computer may help.

A computer in "sleep" is not dead but in a low-power mode. It's like your brain, that still needs energy when you sleep to keep all your bits working.

Apple's automated maintenance routines run in the small hours of the morning when most computers are not in use. They wake the computer, do their appointed chores (included degragging) and then put the computer to sleep again. That takes a little energy.

Some apps may do status or server checks while the computer is asleep. Some may even automatically check for updates.

Other than closing all user-launched apps and turning off any automated updates, turning the computer off is the only way to reduce the "not in use" drain to a minimum. You cannot stop it completely because all rechargeable batteries lose a little charge due to the basic nature of the chemical processes that allow the storage of energy.
