Sometimes my iPhone and Apple Watch won't ring or vibrate
Sometimes no ring or vibrate on phone or watch.

On my iPhone XR I could not get it to ring after going into settings and changing just about every setting I could think of. Then I discovered almost by mistake that on the top left side of the phone there is a little switch which you push up or down with your fingernail to turn the ringer on or off. It might not be your problem but you might want to make sure.
