Updated iPhone to 17.6.1 and my phone stopped working

iPhone 12 Pro

updated it yesterday, it then said Face ID wasn’t working, Googling it said something about the lasers turned my phone on and off again and it started working but today (9 sep 24) the screen started flickering with a green tint and now my screen is fully black. i haven’t dropped my ohone or got it wet, the screen is cracked but that was from over a year ago and there is a screen protector on it. I am still receiving phone calls and notifications as I can hear it going off but my screen is black and cannot see anything.

I got one of my friends to FaceTime me so I could answer it ( guessing where the buttons was) and they could hear me and see me on FaceTime but I cannot see anything on my end.

ehat shall I do? Is it worth seeing if I can get it repaired or shall I just get a new phone?

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution! Please look in the right direction.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.
