Apple Watch Unpaired On Watch But Still Showing On App

Hello,

My Apple Watch recently unpaired itself while charging last night and on the watch itself it’s back to the start up menu when you first purchase it. You go through the prompts and click start pairing. However, on the Apple Watch app itself it shows my watches with a loading symbol on the left hand side that doesn’t stop spinning. When you click on the information icon it states “could not connect to Apple Watch” and it blocks out the “Unpair Apple Watch” from the app. I cannot pair my Apple Watch again and I cannot remove the Apple Watch from the app so it seems I’m stuck from using it. I cannot erase the content from the watch using the hard reset since nothing pops up and on my iPhone I cannot access it. Any ideas what I can do?

Did you already restart your iPhone and make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are near each other and have access to the same Wi-Fi network?

If this does not work, try these steps:

...

  1. Put your watch on its charger and keep it there until you complete these steps.
  2. Press and hold the side button until you see the power button in the upper-right corner of the display.
  3. Press and hold the Digital Crown until you see Erase all content and settings.
  4. Tap Reset, then tap Reset again to confirm.
  5. Wait for the process to finish, then set up your Apple Watch again. When asked, restore from a backup.
