Fraud text as Apple Billing

I started to revive the text message as below while I am traveling overseas. I wonder if anyone else has got such text? It looks like a fraud to me.

“[Apple Security Alert]

We have noticed that your Apple id was recently used at "APPLE STORE" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold. If NOT you? Please Call +1 to talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call immediately to cancel this charge.

Yes, I got two of them one minute apart. It’s a phishing attempt. The sender is a scammer.

Apple does not send texts and especially not from an Outlook account.

If you ever have a doubt about a text, call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE and they can confirm anything sent. Please contact Apple Support and report it to local law enforcement.

You may also report the scam to the FTC Complaint Assistant.
