bluetoothd using ridiculous amount of memory

Macbook Air M2 15" 2023. 8GB RAM. Sonoma 14.6.1

Activity Monitor reports that bluetoothd is utilising 1.2GB RAM.

There is just one device (Magic Mouse) connected via Bluetooth.

Why does bluetoothd need to use 15% of my computer's RAM

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 14.6

UPDATE:

The memory leak can be replicated merely by facilitating repeated connection/disconnection of AirPods Pro 2

Each time the AirPods connect, the memory usage increases. When they disconnect the memory usage does not reduce by the same amount that it increased upon connection.

Thus, there is a memory leak which appears to occur when using AirPods Pro 2.

Note:

I have tested repeated connection/disconnection of Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones and I do not observe a memory leak with this device
